Maximus VI Formula Tuner crashes Windows

After recently buying the ROG Maximus VI Formula, I have run into problems with my Maximus VI Formula once was setup (OS installed, drivers installed, applications installed, etc) I have seen the option in UEFI called CPU level up. After a little research I went into bios which had everything set to default optimized settings and set cpu level up to 4.2. After I accepted the setting for it to begin tuning it reset the computer and started loading windows. But once it finished loading windows a blue screen appeared in place of the normal welcome screen. It read on the second or so line after the "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down..." it read The system encountered an correctable hardware error..

The stop code was

STOP: 0x00000124
(0x0000000000000000,0xFFFFFA8006E22028,0x00000000FF800000,0x000000000
0000124)

The only way to return it no normal (as this happens everytime when the
computer is booted :(, with cpu level up set to anything other than auto) is to go back to
UEFI and reset everything to default. And after paying more than £200 on a what
seems to be good motherboard I would like to use all its features and not just the
ones that work :(. Does anyone have any ideas?

btw here are my specs:
MAXIMUS VI FORMULA
EVGA GTX 660 ti SC
intel i7 4770k
Corsair Dominator 1333mhz 2x4GB
OCZ vertex 4
Windows 7 64bit
Any help appreciated 🙂

PS The same thing happens with the software in the AI suite 3

right now using intel stock cooler however in a few days gonna set custom water cooling loop

I'm having the same problem. Both in the bios and with the AI Suite.

i5 - 4670k
corsair H100i
Asus gtx770 2GB
Corsair vengeance DDR3-1600mhz 16g
Windows 7 64bit

Also, I'm only running a 600w PSU (Corsair CX600M). Could it be possible that my PSU can't deliver enough power for overclocking?

STOP: 0x00000124 indicates that you may have a less than average CPU and it requires more voltage than what CPU Level UP is setting.

So can i set cpu level up to use for voltage?

I have the same problem with a hero board - Some CPU's are not as OC friendly as others. Mine Will not go pass 4GHz not matter now much voltage I use. Try setting it too 4 or 4.1 manually and see if it works.

This is all about the CPU sadly. The amount of voltage that some CPUs need to overclock to higher than 4200Mhz is crazy. Chino has one that is a real dog of a CPU.

You have to take the time and find out what your CPU needs. Start slow and start low. Remember to keep an eye on your temps at all times.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
