What I have found is that using XMP profiles don't work out well (for me) So I manually set the memory. Next my CPU will not hit over 4.2GHz. So I stay in the range of 4GHz - around 1.225 voltage. That's a 16% increase in performances adding about 10 - 15c more heat due my CM212 EVO that does pretty good job.

Next make a overclock profiles name it stock - stock clock with memory setting and fan settings. This way when you have to (set to stock) all you have to do is load that profile. I load defaults save then load stock profile. Make things a little EZ'er.

Since I updated the BIOS and reinstalled Windows, I haven't BSOD'd once. Played BF4 for 4 hours straight last night and never crashed. I'm on the optimized defaults of the BIOS, which have the CPU maxing out at 3.9 and the voltage is 1.2 I believe. So I'm actually OC'd right now and stable! Don't know if I have the nerve/balls/desire to attempt a hardcore overclocking after this charade.

Stupid Corsair Link (or stupid me for relying on CL) was giving me false readings on the CPU temp. Based on RealTemp, my clocks are idling at 27-33c (min to max on all 4 cores). On 100% load (ran Prime 95 for 10 minutes), it was at 61-69c. Based on this, I'd say my cooler and fan setup is fine.

And I just wiped the hard drive to clear all traces of the Asus software, plus all the other garbage. Haven't had a problem since.

Yeah it's pretty nice. The drive bays were a little annoying to set up (pins kept popping out), but all in all it's a nice tower.

Well I just BSOD'd again during BF4. It seems to always happen during some kind of transition. Like when I die, or in this case, when the round ended.

Event Viewer says: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffe000042c3028, 0x00000000bf800000, 0x0000000000000124).

Blue Screen View says: hal.dll+35cdf and ntoskrnl.exe+1b7d41

I turned Intel Turbo off in the BIOS to set my clock down to stock 3.5.
In EZ mode it says my RAM is at 1600MHz. That is what it is tested at, but according to http://www.corsair.com/us/memory-by-...2a1600c10.html the spd speed is 1333.

Should I manually turn it down to 1333 or enable XMP?

I'm really at a loss right now. I've reinstalled Windows 6 times, not going to do it again. My MB is at the current BIOS version and I downloaded and installed all the new drivers for the chipset, LAN, etc.

The hal.dll+35cdf is usually some kind of memory error. Try setting your RAM up manually.

I ran memtest all night with no errors. So should I enable XMP? The default XMP profile loads my correct TESTED settings (1.5v, 10-10-10-27). I've been reading about how some people have had to up their voltage a little, say to 1.6 or 1.65. Anything in this might be applicable to me?

Also, based on the usual conditions that would cause me to crash in BF4 (ie. right after a death, end of round, other transition, etc), lead me to believe that it was either the RAM or the graphics cards. So for now I disabled SLI. I received my NVidia 3D Vision kit last night and BSOD'd while trying to play BF3 a couple times. Since I turned SLI off, I haven't BSOD'd.

I read a recommendation somewhere that a guy said the following: "if you had your SLI bridge connected when you first booted your computer and installed the NVidia drivers, you should uninstall the drivers, take the SLI bridge off, reboot, install the NVidia drivers, turn off the computer, install the SLI bridge again, then reboot." Well I did in fact have the SLI bridge on during the driver installation. Does anyone know if this has merit?

Since your pc does not BSOD with one card installed, you could try this, Leave the SLI bridge on, reinstall the NVidia drivers using the custom install and select perform a clean installation. After that is done go to NVidia control panel and maximize 3d performance. Start up battlefield 4 and see if you are still getting BSOD. I'm not guarantteing a fix but it is something simple to try first. If you passed memtest leave your RAM as is for now.
