external monitor for G75VW and closing the lid [solved?]

with the G75vw i'm wanting to get an external 24" monitor on my desk for it, small keyboard and mouse.

with an external monitor, etc., the G75vw will still need to have its lid open, yes?

No, you just need to change an option in power setting/lid close action/Do Nothing(the default is Sleep).
