2010 Portland Retro Gaming Expo

Kaboom
Level 8
The 2010 Portland Retro Gaming Expo takes place September 18-19 at the
Crowne Plaza Hotel in Portland’s Lloyd District

Portland, Ore., August 2010 -- Hundreds of classic home video game fans from around the
Northwest and beyond will converge on Portland this September 18-19 for the 2010 Portland
Retro Gaming Expo (PRGE). Celebrating its fifth year, the PRGE has expanded into an
additional room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel near downtown in Portland’s Lloyd District.

The Expo will feature a large area of free-play video game consoles, full-size classic arcade
machines, a classic video game “museum”, common areas for socializing and competitive
gaming, organized tournaments and plenty of classic video games for sale from our many
vendors.

The expo keynote will be given my Portland’s Robin Mihara, third-place winner of the 1990
Nintendo World Championships and producer of a film examining modern Tetris competition.
Additionally, the Expo will include contests, door prizes and a live “video game geek trivia
contest”.

Classic video gaming is most closely associated with home consoles like the Atari
2600/5200/7800, Nintendo NES and Super NES systems, Sega Master System/Genesis and
other game systems released in the 1980s and early 1990s. Attendees can expect to see and
play these and rarer systems at the Expo.

Doors open at 9:00 AM on Saturday for presale ticket holders and 10:00 AM for admissions
purchased the day of the show. Individual admission is $15 for a weekend pass or $10 for a
daily pass. Family passes are also available for $45 and $30 (good for up to five family
members). Children 10 and under admitted free with each paid adult admission.

So who all is going? Anyone? This sounds like a blast 🙂
