Prodigy Impact Build

Evening Chaps! I was told I should post my build here... so that's what I'm going to do. This is my first build post, so bear with me if I'm missing the juicy details you most deeply desire.

First, a list of parts:

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI Impact
CPU: Intel 4770K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHz 9-9-9-24
SSD: Crucial 480GB M.2 SSD
Power Supply: Corsair AX860i with single sleeved cables
GPU: Waiting on the GTX 790

Case: Bitfenix Prodigy custom modded by Performance-PCs
Pump/Res: EK-D5 Vario X-RES 140
Board Block: EK ASUS M6I AIO Block
RAM Block: EK Monarch with EK Ram Modules
GPU Block: Whatever EK makes when the GTX 790 comes out
Front Rad: Magicool 180mm RAD
Front Fan: Phobya G-Silent 180mm x 32mm Red
Top Rad: Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 280mm RAD
Top Fans: BGears High Static Pressure 140mm Red
Fittings: Bitspower Deep Blood Red 7/16" (So so many fittings...)
Tubing: PrimoFlex Advanced LRT Tubing 7/16: Crystal Clear

So... I already have most of the components. Still waiting on the SSD to come up from the states (Yes I'm Canadian). Also I'll be using an old Sapphire Toxic 5970 until I can get my hands on a GTX 790 (Only one PCI slot? Better be the most extreme card I can fit in there!). Haven't put all the tubing together yet; still debating the placement of the Res.

Anyways... Here are pictures:

Alright. So I now have all components of the build save the GTX 790 I'm holding out for.
My M.2 SSD arrived... It's unbelievably small... This is the future of SSDs.

Got all my tubing installed, will be filling the loop any day now. Here are some pictures of the build.

I'd also like to show my solution to a problem that has been making the rounds with the EK M6I block. They seem to have forgotten to include clearance for the front panel audio header, but I came up with a workaround.

I removed the wires from the header, cut the header a little less than half it's original size, bent the pins at a right angle, and super glued them in place in the header. You can then attach it to the card, before installing it on the board, and it fits with room to spare.

That's all for now... I'll post more when I've tested it running.

If any of you care to chime your opinion, I have a bunch of case badges (corsair, alphacool, intel, performance-pcs, etc...) and can't decide where to place them on the case.

All of the badges in a neat little row on one side of the case.
Nice build dude.
The Mars 760 is the exact same thing as the GTX 790, only RoG 😉

Alright... it's been a while, and my dreams of 790 were dashed by all that silly compute power and it's associated price tag. Instead this build is now rocking a 295x2 and a block from EK. Here are some exterior pics of the build as it's currently running on my desk!

Still haven't put those case badges on yet, but I'll get around to it. I also have a digital thermometer and analog flow meter, but installing them overwhelmed me after the hour + I spent getting the graphics card installed. Also not entirely happy with all my tube routing. The rad to GPU connection used many many adapters 😉

Oh... also those Bgear fans were stupid loud... like insanely so. with really high min RPMs. So there are now some super cool Prolimatech Aluminum Vortex fans in their place... first time I've tried aluminum fans... very classy!

Let me know if anyone wants more pictures of anything in particular.
