Seems the same price as a G750JX, $1,600 - 1,700 kind of. I would rather the JX.

All depends on your portability requirements. If you need portability more than absolute top performance, but still want something with power, it's not a bad choice. All things considered, I would have preferred a more ROG line. Turn this notebook into the n56jr, and take the ROG branding off it, if it is like some people say. However, if it does hold up to ROG thermal specs, then it's a win, because lighter is always better.

There probably isn't a "real" problem with it. I'm guessing most people (and me) were expecting a lot more, such as a refreshed G46. Considering the potential a refresh of that model would have with a GTX 860m in it, its worth anticipating. Then this rebadge showed up.
I could be wrong and Asus does have a refresh on their plans seeing as how this model above is not a U.S. release. Hopefully this is the case...
As sattelitekid said above, it seems to get the job done well.

Let me introduce the MSI GS60 2PC Ghost:
- 15.6” FHD or WQHD+ (2880 x 1620)
- dual fan thermal cooling (it seems they are starting to understand...)
- GeForce GTX 860M
- Super RAID (over 900MB/s)
- 802.11ac
- 1.96 kg with battery
and now the "amazing" G56JR:
- 15.6" HD (1366 x 768) or FHD
- GeForce GTX 760M
- 802.11 b/g/n
- 2.7 kg with battery
Next question ?Last edited by Joystick; 04-05-2014 at 02:28 PM.
