It's an update to support "new" Haswell Refresh CPUs , including Z87, H87, B85 & H81 chipset

I don't get it either. How is it an update to support Haswell? The previous bios updater worked flawlessly with my 4770k. This is just an update to the bios flasher right? Not an actual bios update.

Well, I'm just downloading the bios files as they accrue, changing the name to M6E.cap, and flashing the bios via the USB bios flashback button on the back of the machine. What do I do with this tool? It's not the tool itself, but the bios file that's important, correct??

Haven't tried this myself.

But I think you just unzip and run the Update.exe and follow the instructions, and you should be fine.

I don't really like updating the bios in windows. I have seen some report problems with this, and I have just made it a habit to update outside the windows environment. I will probably continue to update my bios without the tool.

Same here Hopper, I wouldn't risk flashing in Windows either. That and overclocking a CPU personally is a BIOS job only I'd say.

+1 I will never update from Windows again, the one and only time I did it years ago it failed and my pc was bricked!
