Installing a New SSD

Retired
Not applicable
I recently got a g74s and bought an extra SSD to use as a boot drive to make everything run smoother and faster. My problem is the the drive connector that came in the bag wasn't connected to the cable that connects it to the motherboard. Both the parts were in the bag but I can't figure out which way the flat cable needs to fit in the ports. THe pictures in the manual are confusing since I cant figure out where to start from. I have actually tried all the different ways to do it but cant seem to make it work. If i can get the cable correct then I can start exploring other options as to why it's not working. Thanks.

Maybe you should start by divulging what brand and model of SSD you bought so somebody that knows this can help. 😉

Connector wasnt all the way in. SSD installed and initialized. Now I just need to figure out how to move windows over to it.

Didn't your ssd come with a utility to do that?
