So Dreamonic has been telling me to share this with you guys for quite some time now, so, here it is. I swapped out the 660m in my g75vw with a 670mx I bought on ebay. Boy was that a process. The guy hid that the heatpipes were damaged in his ebay pictures. I had to take the pipes off my 660m heatsink and resolder them to the 670mx heatplate to create a new sink. The results? Apparently a card with a heatsink that cools a little better than the stock one :cool: Pictures below of the card before and after.Worth every second put in to make this mod happen. The card is now voltmodded @ 1.1mv running a stable clock of 1176 mhz core and 2302 mhz memory. The swap was fairly easy, and should anyone be considering doing the like at any point I would be more than happy to help.

I myself can't justify the price to performance ratio just yet... to upgrade my 670M with a 670MX
well maybe someday:) but a tthat someday I will probably have a new laptop if im lucky 😛
will pm if I decide to go the upgrade way aaand if I can find the card on the european Ebay 🙂 😛

Yo!!! Good news from itsgreekpete.!!! I really like to see this kind of topic on the title. I have a question about this upgrade man!.

Is the Gtx670mx from the Asus laptop model?? that's because it is custom form factor.... If you got a gtx670mx from sager or others (maybe alienware?) How did you make this happen successfully? Lol..

I am using G75VW-ds73 3D panel version. Hope you answer my question ASAP! Great jop man!

the card was from a an sus g75vx it was on ebay for about $200 USD it was listed as a 670m. If you are looking for this card, take a look at the 670ms listed as well. The only mod i had to make was to swap over the heatpipes from my 660m to the 670mx due to them being completely and utterly destroyed. The fluid even leaked out the pipes. thank god i tested it under heat prior to installation 🙂

Highlander, yes they are removable but only replaceable with other asus cards of the same form factor. i think only the 6xx series cards will fit to replace these cards. The only card worth it is the 670mx as they do not make an asus 680m, and going from 660m to 670m isn't that great considering the 660m can be voltmodded to exceed the 670m easily. I got 1380 on my 660m, which is for sale without the heatsink 🙂

on another note, here's a 670mx... I'd gladly pay for it considering the huge increase i've seen in performance.

After you replace 660M by 670MX,did you change bios firmware ?

Yes i changed the bios of the gpu not the mobo but before i turn the laptop back on
