No CD drive, can I copy the software CD to a USB drive?

Just as the title says. I plan on buying a Maximus VI Formula board but my build doesn't have a CD drive. I don't really want one. Will installing the accompanying software with the board be a problem if I copy the CD to a USB drive?

Yes, you can. I did so myself with the same MB.
I have no need for optical drives either, so I used a pen drive.

Cool, thanks! Did you just copy and paste everything?

Ye, just throw it in the pen drive and you can run the setup same as on the CD.

Okay, thanks. Do you remember the size of the software? I'm assuming it's not that big since it's on a CD.

    4.19gb
That's for the whole DVD (not cd)

Can remove a few things, like Linux drivers and whatnot.

Or you can always download the latest version of the drivers and software from the support page for your motherboard.

I thought they are only on the CD. In one of JJ's videos on youtube he said DO NOT lose the CD.

Everything that's on the DVD is on the support page. Actually we recommend new users to get their drivers from the support page. That way you know that you're using the newest ones.
