Thunderbolt 10 Gbit/s ?!? So lame.
@Jenos, at this point is clear, Asus wants us to buy a Razer Blade: 14 inch, 3200 x 1800 pixel touchscreen display, GTX 870M. Pesonally I'll wait for next gen with Maxwell (GTX 970M ?), then I'll obey "Asus wish".

Unfortunately, Optimess is a deal breaker. People don't buy a 17 inch gaming laptop for battery life; they buy it so they can game in the living room and move the laptop around the house. Optimess has tons of compatibility issues and it forces you to use the inferior integrated graphics for 2D (with its limitations such as the lack of support for proper color profiles and digital vibrance).

@joystick
Unfortunately I can't afford the Razer, it cost way too much here in the Philippines. Well an Asus staff did posted in a thread here last month that Asus will release 15" rog's this year. Am still waiting for those.

Very good question!
860M is something you should look at more precisely if buying a laptop with it - there's 2 versions of it with no difference in naming, one is using Kepler/GK104, one Maxwell/GM107 - they should have about the same performance but the latter obviously has notably better battery life on same battery size. The new series also introduces new "Battery Boost" technology which tries to down clock the GPU as much as possible while maintaining 30 FPS performance in the running game.
