Issue with Microphone on G74

Retired
Not applicable
I've tried to see how to resolve this issue, but I dont find any thread anyware or any information.

Everytime I use the build-in microphone of the laptop, there is a terrible sound of static, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. But there is like a sound of a motorcycle engine, sometimes it is like the sound of a fan, but it is incredibly annoying, and I have found nowhere any kind of fix for this.

Is this a issue someone else has experienced? I really don't know what to do.

Any assistance would be appreciated..

How is your microphone configured in the Realtek HD Audio Manager? Does changing microphone effects or default format resolve the issue?

I do not experience this issue and have both Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo Cancellation selected and use the CD Sampling Rate.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/constant-static-when-i-use-the-b... offers some other troubleshooting tips.

Guys, before testing microphone please make sure that plastic protective tape is removed from the camera.

This really have an impact, because microphone doesn't hear you.

This behavior sounds very similar to that reported by Panda and leslaron in http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showthread.php?5393-Issues-with-my-G74SX. Can you confirm this happens when you make a recording in Sound Recorder, Intile?

Yes, I too have a weird sound from my mic that I don't hear, but others do.

We know, Panda. Did you try a direct connection to the internet yet, or did you update your WiFi driver with a version higher than is on the Asus support page?
