need to ask a question about doing bios update

When I read this,
Before using the new Intel 4th Gen Core processors, we suggest that you first update the BIOS using USB BIOS flashback, or download the BIOS updater for new Intel 4th Gen Core Processors and then update the BIOS using it.

So if I'm reading this right, before I put the cpu into the socket I flash bios version 1402.
I know that I dont have to but if I decide to do it. This would be the way to do it.
This is a maximus VI hero mobo with a i54670k cpu. So I would name the bios
MVIH
Is this right.
Now is it worth me to update to the new bios. I'm overclocking with a corsair H100i extreme 240mm water cooling.

Hello

You don't have one of these CPUs. They have not been released yet. Haswell refresh.

First, thanks for the info. If they were out and I had one of the new refresh cpus. You would update it without the cpu in the socket.
Right.
Now about the new bios. Is it worth updating to 1402.
If it is, when I put it on a thumb drive I name the file MVIH

No, it is not worth it.
You name it M6H.CAP (it is in the manual).

The beauty of it mate is, you can keep your 4770K in when you flash the BIOS if you happen to get one of the refresh CPU's.

I'm building it for a client.it's not mine.

You don't need to have a CPU or RAM installed to flash the bios, you can use the USB BIOS Flashback feature.

Regarding 1402, it's hard to say as there are no proper bios notes, basically if you don't have any issues then don't flash the bios.
