First I would like to say hello.
This will be my first full scratch build. I want to go a little wild with this one. I'm basing this off the maximus VI Impact.
I would like this to be a smaller build beings it will travel with me.

Budget: $2-3000
Main uses of intended build: Gaming, digital music and video playback.
Parts required: Everything
Intended enclosure: corsair 350d with Window. 99.99
PSU: Fractal Design Newton R3 800w. 199.99
CPU: Intel I5 4670k. 239.99
GCU: ASUS GTX 780 3gb. 519.99
RAM: Corsair Dominator platinum (2x8gb) 274.99
MB: M6I. 219.99
SSD: samsung 840 evo 1tb 469.99
Newegg total so far 2024.93. (Yeah looks like I might blow the budget )

Storage requirements: 2x ssd. One dedicated to OS and one for media storage.

Extra information about desired system:* Liquid cooled everything, uv reactive coolant. Possibly redundant systems. I desire to utilize the new RoG front panel.

I'm not an expert on custom watercooling so I'll let the other chaps come in and help you with that one. As far as core components go, this is what you can get.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($306.99 @ Amazon)

You mentioned that you wanted 2 SSDs. Not sure how important disk space is for you but in case the 1TB SSD isn't enough, you can always add another one down the road.

for custom cooling your case will be huge.
and difficult to take whit you, trust me on this.
for CPU cooling i would go for the H100 or H105 ( 2x 120 rad space ).
case? get one whit good airflow ( since the asus DCII will vent hot air in to the case witch YOU WANT to vent out. )

here is a pick i did for you, but if you want to go for custom loop its going to go past the $3000 limit you set up easy.

added the case you "wanted" PSU is enough whit the one i picked out for you .
you can not go SLI so no need for larger realy.

monitor and OS and peripials you have to choose your self.
mabye a 144mhz monitor?
you can get ones whit nvidia G-sync on em too ( dont know the name or model of those of my head now ).

I like his build and yes, custom loop will go past 3k easy. You can throw a closed loop cooler on there no problem for about $110 for the CPU. I see your original build you tried to sneak a Fractal Design Newton PSU on to it. If you take anything away from this post, take that you should never cheap out on a PSU, EVER!

For custom cooling that loop with just CPU + 780 TI you need at at least a thick 280 possibly a 360 rad. I don't know where you live so I dont know the climate.

I fail to see where the fractal PSU is a cheap unit. It is an 80 platinum certified unit. It is 92% efficient at 50% load, and haswell ready. The gpu is rated 300w max, the CPU 77w I figure approx 20 when I get the pump and fans figured out. The various leds will be negligable. I figure that worst case conditions it'll pull 500w momentarily. I think the PSU will more than fit the bill for this build.

i have the fractial 1kw and it triggered the fuse in the house every time i plugged it to the socket.
so i switched it out to a corsair 1200i and that did not blow the fuse.
that fractial is not 100% modular if im not mistaken.
on mine it had the 24 and 8 pin wired to the psu.

Good point on the unit not being modular. I've also been looking at the EVGA PSU's as well as the corsair.

I have a couple year old hans g 22" hi Def monitor packed away. Will still need to get a good KB and trackball setup.

This build is changing a little.
My wife thinks I'm nuts. I've been without a computer for a few years now. Makes doing things like rooting my phone or tablet kinda difficult. My last rig was an hp hdx dragon. That 16 lb laptop was far from portable. After my 16 year old got a hold of it, it mysteriously began to freeze up and fail to boot up randomly.
So on to the build....

for that GPU go for a 750W PSU
drop the platinum and go for gskill since they are cheeper
