4770k OC'ing issues

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here so I'm hoping that you guys might be able to help me. I recently purchased the components for my new build and it was running great at stock speeds. I decided to go ahead an overclock my cpu with the general parameters that were set in many overclocking Haswell guides online. The problem is that I cannot get my cpu stable above 4.3Ghz at 1.3v or less. I know that you aren't guaranteed to get a good overclocker when purchases these cpu's but I'm just wondering if anyone has some better ideas for me to increase my OC.

System Specs:
4770k
Sabertooth z87
H100i
8gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz
EVGA 780ti w/ acx
Samsung 256gb SSD
Corsair AX860
Corsair 750d

I am currently running the cpu at 4.2ghz with an adaptive voltage of 1.19 + 0.01. Everything else has been reset back to auto because I just wasn't stable. Also, I delidded the processor and used Arctic Silver 5. While stress testing in Prime95 and Aida64 my temps reach about 62C. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

all chips differ but that temp seems a bit high for 4.2 at default voltage on a delidded CPU

but when you say your temps reach 62c, do you mean Spike? or Average??

also what are you using to view the temp?

also how are you overclocking? bios/program?

what are you shooting for, do you have a number your trying to hit or are you just trying to see what you can do GHz wise?

First off, thanks for the reply, Tokens. My temperature spike is 62C and average of 54-55C. I'm using CPUID, Corsair Link, and Aida64. Overclocking has been done all through the bios. I would be happy to hit 4.5GHz and I hope that isn't unreasonable.

First of all, use one and only one temp monitoring program, then uninstall all others.
What voltage do you need for 4.2GHz and have you played with the CPU LLC settings under the Digi+ option?
4.5GHz seems to be nearly impossible for these newer/latest batches, but it's mostly the CPU lottery at work.
