Just Bought a refurbished G71GX - Concerned

I purchased this outdated system today because it seemed like a great buy. After reading though I'm very concerned that the system I have needs to be upgraded to Win 7 and my Vista upgrade is no longer valid. I'm also concerned about the bios issues etc...

Is there a forum that discusses these issues and whether they have been addressed by ASUS on refurbished models?

You are concerned doesnt tell us much though.
Take the money you saved and buy win7.
Does it have enough memory?
What are you trying to do with it?
There is the vip.Asus forum also....so, wus up?

should be a nice system. probably 6GB Ram (plenty of RAM).

grab a copy of win7 or wait for win8. if you ask around someone might have a spare key so you can have a legit version. of course if you can't find one there are other ways of acquiring it.

the g71's were pretty cool computers. most of em came with a P8700 if i remember correctly.
