Screen dims based on window content

Asus g75vx just installed 8.1. My screen display dims when using dark content pages such as ROG website, or Visual studio, and instantly highlight when using white background pages. Have changed screen power saving options to no avail. driving me crazy! please help

SOLVED:
After hours of settings and commands and what other nonsense fix was annoyingly simple, as they usually end up being. ASUS SPLENDID UTILITY. uninstalled. hopefully helps whoever else has this issue.
