So I installed the network card in my pc last night thinking that's all I needed and found out I need a router too.
I have a basic cable modem connected to pc via Ethernet cable and would like to be able to use the pc to connect my xoom to internet. im a complete noob when it comes to this wireless networking thing as I have never used any such devices yet.
the card is a blutooth/wifi combo card that came with the mobo. model GD-WB300D
any suggestions on a not too expensive router ??

No wireless users here huh?
Not even a vote for a Asus dual band router that I was looking at on Amazon and newegg.
This site sure isn't as helpful as it used to be.

People don't sit on the internet 24/7 😉 I'm using Asus RT-N12E, don't need faster router (300mbps router) because I've got only 60mbps bandwidth. Also not using any LAN/WLAN storage so no need to have USB in it, just a simple router.

I'm considering the Asus dual band router n 6. (RF N56U)
I figure since my network card is dual band than I may as well get a dual band router.

I decided to give the apple airport extreme a try do to its rave reviews and ease of installation.
As well as the fact that I got a new open box one for 85.00.
Saved over a hundred.

Some people regret it. My fired had it, he asked me to configure his network. After half an hour we decided to buy asus router, couldn't do anything with airport at all, no advanced routing etc.
