Haswell IMC's

One thing has struck me..

is the difference so fokkin huge when in comes to the IMC, and the mem speed from chip to chip..

I have friends running the 4770k + 2800mhz just fine

This 4670K specimen is maxed out at 1600mhz (4gb) 6.6.4

And at 4800mhz only 1333mhz (4gb) 5.5.4

If i bump up the ram speed and voltages and loosed up the timings much ( 2000mhz 7.7.7 or 1866mhz 7.8.7), i get artifacts/freeze and crash, and if i tighten the mem really hard, i get even lower speeds as a result

Its borderline Intel spec..

at stock cpu clock its 1600mhz-1700mhz mem speed max (loose timings)

Please share some light over this..

/ Gryphon Z87/4670K tested with 5 different kits (same outcome)

I heard the IMC on Haswell was not silicone but a wafer thin slice from a cream-cheese bagel! Might explain it...

yes, would certainly do

No space what so ever for MEM overclocking

Actually, what's wrong with that?...I just looked at my crib sheet and 1600 Cas 6 is 7.5ns like all the best timings....2400 C9 2666C10 2933 C11 (will we ever see it?)

i am stuck at 1600mhz, and when i start to push it, the dram frequency drops even lower.

It will work for 24/7 duty, but not for overclocking

2400mhz 7.7.7 is better
2400mhz 6.7.5

yeah...I guess mainstream is mainstream...and the bagel theory holds up....see what the next lot of soldered chips are like....

Please can some members post some cpu-z mem speed with the haswell?

I dont want to go back to Ivy, but if it is really bad, i will do so.. i wont buy 10 haswell chips, just to find a overclocker
