Can I buy/install a dual-band card in my Asus G53S?

I have a G53S laptop and would like to be able to take advantage of the faster network, but the card it came installed with isn't a dual-band card. Asus was no help, avoiding the issue by simply telling me they don't recommend doing anything like that, but would not tell me whether it is even technically possible to swap in a different network card!

I just want to know if it is possible to get a dual-band card for my G53S. If so, has anyone done this successfully?

Yes you can.

Your laptop only comes with 3 antenna leads though so if you buy a card that requires 3 leads, you will also need to buy a 3rd lead and route it somewhere inside of the laptop to get expected signal/performance.
