I purchased a G750JM recently.

I did not like Windows 8, and went through the steps to install Windows 7.

1. Disabled Secure Boot Control in BIOS
2. Enabled Launch CSM
(My SSD had been partitioned into 5)
3. I formatted two of the partitions (labeled OS & System, the others I could not in Win7 install window)
4. So, I attempted to format the drive in CMD using:
- diskpart
- list disk
- select disk 0
- clean all

It now shows my 256 GB SSD as only having 111 GB of space total. I'm not savvy enough to solve this on my own.

Any ideas?

You didn't need Windows 7 to get Windows 7 features on Windows 8/8.1:

You have a laptop build well outside the support window for Windows 7 - the first G750's were on Windows 8.0 - now your new G750JM comes with Windows 8.1, so it is going to be problematic at best to get / keep Windows 7 working on your laptop. Many people swear it works, and just as many swear at it and restore Windows 8/8.1 afterwards 🙂

Did you erase your original Asus configuration boot disk? Did you make an Asus Backtracker USB 3.0 drive to allow for recovery back to the OEM Asus Windows 8.1 configuration? Can you put the original boot drive in and make a USB 3.0 Asus Backtracker recovery flash drive?

If you have the Asus Backtracker restore flash drive handy, you can use that to restore Windows 8.1 to the mis-partitioned drive - Backtraker blows away the partition map and builds the OEM partitions on the boot drive before doing the restore.

If you did diskpart on a Windows 7 machine, it might explain why the geometry read from the SSD was incorrect, and the Clean all didn't help. Asus Backtracker using Windows 8.1 should be able to read the geometry correctly and fix the partition map on the 256GB SSD.

What are you using to look at the available space on the 256GB SSD? Is that raw space, or what you have in a single partition?
