Hi,

I am new to the forum so please forgive me if I have misunderstood anything :P.

I am trying to raid 10 4 2TB western digital caviar black's.

I am pretty certain that this is what I am going to do but was wondering more about the practicality of doing it:

1. Can I plug the 4 hard drives into to any of the 6 red and 2 black SATA ports?

2. If one of the 4 drives already has data on it is there a way of keeping this data?

3. I use a SSD as my boot drive. will this still work if it is not included in the RAID

Any type of answer to these questions or any other advice would be very much appreciated! I look forward to seeing what you have to say 🙂
