Hi all,

I was wondering if you knew where I could buy an OEM type BR Reader Writer to replace my DVD RW drive in my new Asus G750JS?

Thanks!

Laptop : ASUS G750JW : i7 4700HQ - 16Gb - 2Tb HDD - GTX 765M OC (+135/500) - Full HD Matte - Win 8.1
Retiered : Toshiba L670 i5 560M/8Gb Corsair/1TB/HD5650 1Gb @ 625/800 /WD 1Tb USB3/Win7

I searched High and Low for something like this and I fund one on amazon.com for 60$ but it does not have same faceplate , so I am using my old one . The faceplate on this one is flat and square so it looks bad on JS . Bluray works perfect so far . It ripps bluray 26 - 40 mins with dvdfab I burned few data disks and one DL Win 8.1 + asus drivers and few software . http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003AXW2YQ/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_1 . Of course you can find more expensive ones .

I found a few pioneer ones that I used exotic pc to configure the asus g750 and cross referenced with the ones they provided. Think the pioneer goes for around $100 though.

But your saying this panasoic works as long as you switch out the faceplate? That's great/awesome. I went and bought a $150 top end lg external bluray burner, which is great as its speeds are im sure faster than any internal laptop one. But I hate having to pack it all up power cord and all. Id be willing to sacrifice some speed in order to have one on the go all the time with me.
