Recommendations for RAM

I'm building my first gaming PC and I need recommendations for the RAM (newbie)
Also, will 1.65v RAMs be compatible with my system?
My theme is black/red. (Red coloured RAM would be great)


These are my motherboard and CPU:

- ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87
- Intel i7 4770K 3.5GHz

You could go with G.Skills Trident X it's red in color and really great ram..

Or you could go with G.Skill's RipjawsZ RAM, they are also red in color and low profile

dont spend a million bucks on DDR3 today, DDR4 is around the corner anyway, and the DDR3 on the market today dont come with any funny IC's to OC

Dominator GT, still undisputed (my opinion)

I hope Corsair will implement some of the GT design into DDR4, and ditch the platinums and all the hype (hand screened on the surface of the moon or not)..

Forum is fcked up now, and the Spanish language pack just kicked in..

I have the same motherboard and colors. Go with G Skill Ripjaws 16GB 1866, anything more is overkill.

gskill trident is great ram. and you can remove the heads if you got big cpu cooler

Dominator GT is really the best RAM you can get, but it's a bit expensive.

Grab Trident X, Ripjaws X, or a Kingston Hyper X kit.
