PB278Q and ROG MATRIX-HD7970-P-3GD5

I have a ROG MATRIX-HD7970-P-3GD5 - great card and now Im looking for a great monitor:

The one im looking at is ASUS PB278Q - but can I get the full benefits with the card I have and that monitor?

To get the full benefit of the ROG Swift PB278Q you would need an Nvidia card to utilize gsync. You can still benefit from the 144hz refresh rate and the thin bezel and 1ms gtg etc but you will have to use a variable refreshrate setting and can still suffer from stuttering and tearing.

Seriously? Do U want me to replace a 6 mount old card Top-Card with a Nvidia - hell no. I can´t be right.

U say ROG Swift pg278q and I say: ASUS PB278Q

A 7970 will run almost every game at WQHD resolutions in high quality just fine. The 280X is still a fast card.
