So when i installed Windows 8 Pro on my computer for some reason it used 80 GB of hard drive space which in my opinion is an insane amount of harddrive space for an operating system.
So i havent had that problem on my other computer, so what makes this flaw to happend?

Fresh install or upgrade?

Search - Disk Cleanup - c: - go through disk cleanup and more options. See what that gives you.

Also, you have 64GB of memory. If you have hibernation enabled you will have a 64GB hibernation file on your drive. To turn off hibernation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920730. Page file can also be reduced/turned off: comptuer - properties - performance - settings - advanced - change - custom (fixed size: 1000MB) or no page file.

For future reference a simple way to disable Hibernation.

For Windows 7 open an elevated command prompt by click start button, type cmd and right click and select run as administrator.
Type "powercfg -h off" without quotes and press Enter to disable.
Type "powercfg -h on" and press Enter to enable.

Hello

When using Win8/8.1 disabling hibernation also disables Fast Start. If Fast Start is desired reduce the Hibernation file size to 50%.

powercfg -h -size 50
