I'm looking for recommendations on excellent Single Player - First Person Shooter Games.

Not interested in multi-player or online games.

If possible, It would also be nice to have something without the intrusive spyware from NSA or any other over-reaching federal government spying apparatus. Same goes for un-wanted social media total user data linking multi-accounts registration.

Metro....Metro Last Light? Borderlands 1+2...Sniper elite v2 not strictly FPS like COD etc. but Bioshock series is same sort of thing with different mechanics....Far Cry 3 is not strictly FPS either I don't think but excellent

STALKER series with the "Complete" overhaul packs. A bit dated now, but epic, epic single player campaigns (well, 1 and 3 were).

Learning curve like a 50ft brick wall - brutal. There's ZERO easing you in the first level. Bite your lip and once you get over it you'll never want to stop playing.

You should be able to buy them without Steam etc these days.
