Noctua NH-D15 triple fan vs Corsair 110i Push/Pull

Hi there!

This is a question for cooling experts!

What would perform better, Noctua NH-D15 triple fan vs Corsair 110i Push/Pull on a I7 4770K overclocked to:

Core 1: 4.6, Core 2: 4.6, Core 3: 4.5, Core 4: 4.5, Cache ratio 44 @ 1.35V.

Anyone knows when the first 360mm AIO coolers will come out this year, from Fractal or Nanoxia?

Cheers

I haven't had the chance to play with the H110 but I do have a NH-D15 here. My testing revealed that the D15's performance is on par with the Seidon 240M. Not sure how big of a difference exists between the Seidon 240M and the H110 though. 😛

Adding a third fan to the D15 drops your temperature by 1 to 2 degrees.

That is interesting, I guess the Seidon 240M and the Corsair H110I are mostly on par.

Darn, I thought it would lower at least 5°C with a third fan. Could you use other fans than the Noctua ones with the NH-D15?

Cheers

I guess it can be done if the fans are the same size and thickness as the Noctua ones.

Hmm while I do like the Noctua I do wonder if it can fully compete with a H110? the H110i doesn't exist 😉 and the H100i would be about equal in your example or the H100i would beat it by a couple of degrees maybe.

Idle temps would of course be the same but load temps and I think watercooling even bad watercooling like the AIO coolers will have a slight edge.

Of course in design/looks, noise and not leaking on your components it's all a win for the Noctua

Hi Guys

I am glad that this subject on the D15 . TTL has a total review and in depth tests, should answer all questions

Tom mounted the D15 on a maxumus Gene, Crazy looking

I'd like to see a few more reviews, but from what I've seen so far the Performance of the NH-D15 and the H110 are pretty close. Surprisingly, Linus Tech Tips' YouTube video even had the Noctua leading the H110 by a couple of degrees under 100% load.

I've been looking at it because I couldn't be happier with my NH-D14 and I'm considering the NH-D15 for a build in a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO (horizontal MB tray) and wanted to make sure it would fit (It will). Together with the stepped fins and the DIMMs being moved out a little on the ASUS Maximus boards, I was looking at, it should all be good.

My two cents.

I just switched my for SP120 fans from the corsair h100i to INTAKE instead of EXHAUST.

Guess what, temps lowered a good 5-7° in bf4 for the cpu.

I run a 900d with 6 AF120 in the front as an intake, 3 AF120 in the bototm as intake.

2 x EVGA 780 SC with ACX cooler which push the hot air into the case instead of out.

1 x AF140 in the rear as exhaust.

I wonder if I could reach even more cooling with 6 x SP120 in the front instead of AF120ies.

I wonder if

If you have a lot of fans as intake reversing top flow to intake might work even better if you reverse some of those other fans...like the bottom to exhaust too....If you have a lot of intakes and only the one exhaust positive pressure will resist flow inwards....reverse those bottom fans and the flow might increase through top and lower temps more....
