PCH Temps on Maximus VII Hero

Feklar
Level 8
I can't seem to be able to find an option for monitoring PCH Temps on this model. The MVI Hero had this option and the Z97 Deluxe has this option but I can't find on the MVII Hero with Aida64 or HWinfo. Any ideas?

I found out from Aida64 support that this model as well as the VII Gene and Ranger will also not have this capability. Why would this simple feature be omitted on these board models when the VI series did. Surely this couldn't have been a cost savings measure.

Maybe because of "aesthetics" (now with the led lit PlasticPlate) the PCH gets hotter and ASUS doesn't want the consumers to "see" this?!

just a theory

You never know I guess. What I don't understand is if you can map fan profiles to on board components including the PCH, how can it be done efficiently if you don't know the temperature of the PCH.

AIDA has new build out today to add support for Z97, try it and see if Temps appear.

I had no PCH on a past ROG till later builds, think it was P45.

I am going to try the newest build of Aida64 shortly. I have been in contact with the developer of aida64 and he told me that the Z97 Hero, Gene and Ranger do not have the capability to measure PCH temps so I doubt the new version will work. Strange to omit that from these boards. I wonder what the reasoning was.

I installed the newest build of Aida64 (4.50.3000) and it did not help. I Guess PCH temps are no longer able to measured on these ROG boards. Surprising for models that tout their overclocking and gaming performance.

I (sadly) think my guess is pretty legit then. :-((
If this is real i'm a little disappointed by asus!
Form should ALWAYS follow function on so called "max performance"-devices! 😞
