Asus G74SX - BBk11 Laptop installing second hard drive...

So my primary harddrive is some Samsung 250gb SSD.

I wanted to install a WDVelociRaptor 1 TB 25 Internal Hard DriveWD1000CHTZ into the laptop.

First thing I noticed is the hard drive is a bit thick for the laptop so the door doesn't close all the way, its secure with screws so it doesnt bother me.

I used the dongle that came with the laptop to hook up the HDD into the motherboard.

However disc manager, and BIOS don't see the HDD.... Any ideas?

Check the 2nd drive sata port is enabled in the bios.
Ribbon cable well seated on both ends with no debris in the connector?
Test ribbon cable with multimeter just to make sure there's no breaks anywhere.
Test with another drive.
Replace ribbon cable.
