Is ASUS planning a new mobo to go with this Devil's Canyon cpu? If so, what will it be? If not, then which board would be the best match for it?

Hey kzintil....indeed they are....announcing them at Computex as we speak....the Z97 boards are what you want to look for....Hero Formula and Maximus I presume will be coming. Hero is out Formula announced formally yesterday and Maximus...TBA...

I guess you meant Extreme, not Maximus, as the models are Maximus VII Hero, Maximus VII Formula, etc... I have watched some video where JJ was saying that there will be no Extreme for Maximus VII series..

Thanks. Yes, I'm looking for some type of Extreme board. Something that can specifically utilize this new version cpu. I've already pre-ordered the cpu at the Egg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&leaderboard=1. The only interesting board I've seen, so far, is the MSI Z79 X Power. I'd much rather buy a ROG board, as always. The ASUS boards already out are PCI-E x8/x8 for SLi. The MSI has all 5 PCI-E slots at 3.0 x16. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...name=Pre-order. I know there's really no hit at x8, bit I want what I want. This MSI board arrives at the Egg on 6/4. Tomorrow. BTW, why the Hell can't I hit Enter and start a new paragraph? This is a real pisser!
