With my old R4BE motherboard, yes I was able to go from 0701 to 0801 with the first set of modds, i.e. RST 12.0.?, but sense then I have not been able to update to the latest.

On the new R4BE motherboard, it had bios 0601, I tried to update with the modd to 0701, and it would not work. so I went a got the ASUS 0701 version the there website and update it to 0701 using the bios EZ Flash setup, and it worked. But when I try to do the modd with Flash Back, I get nothing. I have tried 0701 and 0801 of your latest.

I'm holding it down for quite sometime. I even have cleared bios and tried it again, and nothing happens. I am very confused.

I assuming that the R4BE.cap file is ok? that I'm downloading?

So I am on the latest bios driver I believe it is 4804? I have a 3930K and i wanted to know what benefit will i receive by flashing you modded bios? and which would be the one to give me the most stability in my OC right now im at 4.7 but I used the gamer's profile. other than that I would really be interested in updating if I could get more performance/stability out of my system I really dont want to upgrade this system to knewer hardware.. only thing I could say im interested in is the USB C and 3.1 features added for the future but asus seems have stopped all support for this chipset which is sad. this mobo cost me AN ARM AND A LEG when it first came out.

Well I tried both 0701 and 0801 and nothing happens.

I did a clean USB flash drive, both versions, using diskpart, formatted fs=fat32, then download the file directly to the USB flash drive. Put the flash drive in the upper right 2.0 USB port, "too the right of the flash button"
Then turn the power supply on, waited a couple of minutes, them cleared the bios, waited 30 second and hit the Flash back button, held it........and nothing...

Thank you for helping with this Bolts4brekfast... I'm just confused to why its not working.

    p.s. especially both motherboards

I'm not sure what else to suggest.. There's been no other complaints about the modded BIOS not flashing properly. But I also have no way of knowing who has downloaded the modded BIOS unless they post about it.

Do you have BIOS for Rampage IV Extreme with the latest Intel Rapid Storage 14.X release? Which of the BIOS revisions is recommended for Intel Core i7-3960X?

And what is the latest Intel MEI firmware that is supported by the Rampage IV Extreme? I'm able to update those manually, but I'm not entirely sure which one is supposed to work for my Rampage IV Extreme and I don't want to flash something I should not. How about Intel LAN roms, can one flash those manually in Windows in some way?

Yes I have that BIOS with latest everything. Just go to the link in the first post of this thread.
I have a RIVE with a 3960x and I'm on BIOS 4901 with no problems overclocked to 4.7Ghz.

From the link, in the BIOS MODS folder, you will also find a zip file for the latest MEI firmware for the RIVE (8.1.52.1496). Just extract the zip file, then open up MEtool.exe in Windows. It will flash the MEI firmware automatically. Then shutdown computer and reboot. You will have new MEI firmware

The latest intel LAN ROM is included in the modded BIOS. So to get the latest just download the modded BIOS and everything will be updated. (except MEI.. but I already explained how to update that.)

Hope this explained everything. Let me know how it works for you

I wanted to test this myself in order to help and I ended up having the same issue LDFiberman1 did. I've flashed using this method many times and it wouldn't work this time. My brother who also has a similar setup was also confused by the situation, but here's what worked.

I had him format the USB thumb drive and copy over the modded bios file on his machine. That did the trick for some reason. After flashing, I was able to format my own USB drive and copy my own modded bios over and flash it. We have no idea why that worked and we both are very technically skilled (it's our profession)...

LDFiberman1, I'd suggest you try formatting and copying over the modded bios on a different machine and then using that USB drive on your machine. Good luck.
