Am I missing something? I get Security Verification Fail when I try to do the Bios update through the Bios, or a get nothing when using the flashback button on the back of R4BE motherboard. Any Idea’s? "This is with 0801 Bios"

    1. you have to flash via flashback method.. Read this: http://event.asus.com/2012/mb/usb_bios_flashback_guide/
    2. Make sure the thumb drive that you're using is either FAT16 or FAT32 formatted
    3. Have only your modified bios file on the thumb drive.. MUST be named R4BE.CAP
    4. Some thumb drives just aren't compatible no matter what you do.. I had one that I couldn't get flashback to work on it... So try a different thumb drive.

    Hope this helps.

Thank You for your response. I do appreciate... I guess I have something going wrong or something is going on with this R4BE motherboards flashback.

I have this motherboard updated with bios 0801 that ASUS issued now. But for some reason I can’t update using the modded bios that you have in the beginning of this thread. "0801 B4BE.CAP"

I have formatted my USB flash drive using the "CMD" in windows and formatted just like the link you listed. But I get no response from the ROG Connect Button, nothing, I put the USB, in the top USB 2,0 slot, just right of the ROG Connect Button. I’ve reset the bios disconnected power and still nothing.

When I update the bios, using ASUS’s 4th Generation software that ASUS, uses for there bios updates, it works great.
I have even tried to do the update through the bios's menu “EZ Flash” , and it says the R4BE.CAP, fails.

I guess I’m just stuck with not being able to do the modded updates...

    Hello Bolts4breakfast,
just one short question. Did you use >Intel RST(e) RAID ROM v13.2.0.2134< , or the one that is modded to enable TRIM support >"Universally TRIM modified" Intel RST(e) RAID ROM v13.2.0.2134 with TRIM in RAID0 support<? If you did not update the BIOS with TRIM enabled RST(e) RAID ROM, can you please update one with IB-E code for 4901 RIVE BIOS?
    Many thanks.
    Best regards.

Hi I'm new here just joined to post on this thread,

Perhaps a strange request but I was wondering if it would be possible to mod an Asus Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition Bios to include support for CPU's that were previously compatible in the 1404.rom bios in the RIVE (pre .cap era)

    more specifically;

    Intel Xeon E5-2609 QAFQ
    CPU Signature 206d2
    Microcode Patch 8000020c

Reason being I have one lying around and thought it would be nice to be able to test my new build before investing a large amount on an extreme CPU

    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

Any chance for a Rampage IV Gene (Ivy-E) - Running RAID myself and will take anything thrown my way, lol.

    Humble thanks in advance.
