Loaded the BIOS (booted and tested the PC; no visible issues), installed a Samsung 950 Pro in a PCIe to M.2 adapter, and installed that in the only available PCIe slot... right between two GTX980Ti's... where it's a bit warm).

I then booted normally and install the Samsung NVMe Driver and backed up my C/OS drive, then I restored the backup of my C/OS drive to the 950. Next, I disconnected my current C/OS drives (SSDs RAID 0) enter the BIOS... The 950 was not visible (a bummer, but not a big surprise), restarted the PC, and there it was... The first Boot attempt from the 950 didn't go well, but I kept trying and finally was able to get it to boot to windows 10. Now, when I reboot, I have to go into the BIOS, select save and restart (because the 950 is again not visible), then restart again, go back into the BIOS and select the 950.

So, long story long, when I attempt to save the boot order, with the 950 set 1st, the BIOS indicates that nothing has changed, when I can see that the change did in fact take place, and of course the fact that the BIOS does not seem to "see" the drive on the first reboot.

Note: The PC has been running stable for about an hour now.

    Any thoughts/Ideas?

UPDATE: The PC has booted directly to the 950 Pro (no BIOS intervention) three times in a row (no directly related changes have been made since the post above)... Looks like it is working.

    Thanks again BOLTS4BREKFAST

I noticed a strange behavior of my Sabertooth x79 board the other day...

Whenever I cold boot my PC the power consumption (idle cpu) is about 18W, but after a warm boot it's about 22W (measured with RealTemp T|I). I updated bios and mei firmware a few month ago (4801 modded bios, mei fw 8.1.65.1586) but I don't think that's the problem here. Anyone else having the same issue? Maybe a well known bug/feature?

Thanks for all your hard work on these mods BOLTS4BREKFAST. Any chance on getting the Maximus V Extreme 1903 added to this list for updates and NVME support?

Problems with Rampage IV Black edition and GTX 1070

Hi there! I have a i7 3930k and Rampage IV Black edition with the newest official bios from ASUS.

Now there is some trouble with getting it to work with my gtx 1070.

Often it doesn't wanna give a signal, and often I get a BIOS error in the beginning ("USB device over current status detected will shut down in 15 ..."

Now I have troubleshooted this for ages, and I've come to the sense that it is my motherboard not being compatible with the card (ASUS also concluded with this)

Will your bios modification by any chance help me with my problem ?

    Dear BOLTS4BREKFAST,

I have an Asus Rampage IV Extreme motherboard and CPU I7-4930K. Can I use the modded 4901 Bios with NVMe.
In that modded bios is there also the Ivy-Bridge microcode?

    Thanks!
