Angry Did ASUS forget about the G750JH Drivers for Win 8.1?

How come the G750JX and JW had the driver updates for Windows 8.1 while the G750JH is still missing many?

    https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultra...Desk_Download/

Even newer laptops came out and that page has been abandoned since months.

can someone send a message to the manager responsible for those lazy guys?

It's pretty standard for Asus to do this. It has been the same as long as I have been using Asus laptops, motherboards, etc. The older product gets updated up through the next hardware release, and then the time is put into the new hardware releases.

The way to live with it is to get the drivers from the newer hardware releases that use the same base hardware. After that hardware becomes obsolete, and Asus doesn't release newer hardware with your base hardware, you can go to other vendors a little behind the curve and back to the OEM that made the original base hardware and get the drivers directly from them.

I would rather have Asus keep putting the effort into putting out new hardware that keeps progressing in performance, and keep the prices low. It isn't that much of a burden to get the drivers and support software on your own. Enthusiast hardware is like that across the board.

    Get used to being self-sufficient

In your opinion, upgrading to win 8.1 is a good idea or not?

nview, you might want to google for Windows 8.1 problems for your favorite/all applications before upgrading, and USB audio devices too - make sure they all have stable Windows 8.1 drivers - and good feedback in that product's support forums. There have been some with Razor headphones - and others - that have reported bad audio after upgrading to Windows 8.1

Make sure you get all the latest updated WIndows 8.1 drivers for your hardware, and updates / fixes for your apps before pulling the switch

Let us know if you found any gotchas, and how it works for you.
