ASUS PBQ278 27" IPS display port not working

Not sure what's up but I used the display port cable, hook it up to the monitor - nothing.. the display won't turn on.. I switch it to DVI works great.

It seems that a lot of people have the display port issues. Am I missing something here? Is the display not working or I should be using a different cable? I'm using cables provided with the monitor.

    The hardware:

    ASUS PBQ278
    Rampage Gene IV
    ASUS GTX 780 Poseidon

    Thanks.

Well I replaced the Display Port cable (got one from Monoprice) and it's working great now.

Not sure how ASUS ships a faulty Display Port cable but I'm glad to see monitor working.
