had some serious issues with 340.43 Driver and solved it (but not as expected) as follows:
System Specs:
- i7 4960X @Stock, @4.5 GHz and 4.6 GHz tested, under water
- ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
- GTX TITAN Black 3 way SLI under water
- 32 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866
- 1200W Seasonic 80+ Platinum PSU
- 3x 250 GB Samsung 840 Evo RAID 0, 2x Seagate 2TB Barracuda RAID 1
- Windows 8.1 Pro
Error Description:
- random crashes and freezes ingame when SLI is enabled and framerate unlocked
- seemed related to high power draw/usage of the GPU's
- games just stopped responding, but not complete, like a extreme System slowdown (movement on the Screen about every 2-3sec), Sounds are playing normal during freeze
- sometimes but rare same freeze/slowdown on Desktop or during browsing
- Windows always Points to nvlddmkm related issue, sometimes to 0xc0000005 Memory related issue
Way to Glory:
- set cpu to stock, no OC...no joy 😞
- set Memory stock...no joy 😞
- add 2. 1000W PSU to ensure optimal Power (additional PCIe Power connector allready in use)...no joy 😞
- upped PCH Voltage from 1.1 up to 1.3 in small steps...no joy 😞
- edit Registry Graphics TDR up to 60sec...no joy 😞
- tested all 3 Cards on their one with no issues...yay 🙂
- reseated all Cards...no joy 😞
- tested every Card in every Slot...no joy 😞
- swaped PCIe power connectors in every possible config...no joy 😞
- checked every device has the latest Drivers...no joy 😞
- did a clean OS install...no joy 😞
- checked CPU with IBT, AIDA, Prime95 and Memory with Memtest86...yay 🙂
- tested 2 way SLI...yay 🙂
- tested 2 way SLI and third as Physics...no joy 😞
Solution:
- uninstalled the f...... Driver, went down to 337.88...Problem solved
