    HDMI not recognized

Hello to all the people who is part of this great forum, I come today to bother you guys with one very annoying problem and its this one:

I just bought my motherboard MAXIMUS EXTREME VI and i have it connected by HMDI to my monitor but it only reproduces the VIDEO but not the sound it is not even recognized by my pc as you can see in this pic.

I'm not using a Graphic Card, but the integrated with the CPU.

I have already comproved the cable, connecting it from my Laptop to the same monitor and works perfectly (video and sound) so I was wondering if the problem comes from my motherboard.

I thank any help you guys can bring me since now and from your time!

    Hi, and welcome

I take it that you are using the internal graphics of the CPU rather than a separate video card, right?

There is a BIOS setting that enables/disables HDMI audio on the integrated graphics. Check

Advanced Menu > System Agent Configuration > CPU Audio Devices

    Hope this helps.

Hey jab383 thanks you for your reply, as you said Im using the integrated graphic of my CPU

When I went to the BIOS to search that setting It was already Enabled

If I turn into disabled the HMDI not only still unrecognized but also dissapear completly.

I dont know if the problema could come from my motherboard itself, which is a little more worrying.

A wild guess here. My LG monitor has downloadable "monitor" drivers that properly identify the model and display profile. I see there is a firmware update for your monitor so I would start there and then check to see if there are monitor drivers for it as well.

OK if you are using Intel drivers for your motherboard graphics then you will need the Intel sound driver too. Download from the Intel site directly.
