I would just like to stress that there is little profit in updating the bios in a perfectly stable and happy system. DO NOT fix something that is not broken is my motto.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

i need the newest updates for everything i own.
so i install it now.

Thanks for the heads up - I was beginning to get worried thinking with the impending release of X99 that Asus was not going to give us X79 users any more love 🙂

It looks like a big step up - its not just from 4802 to 4804 but a jump up to 4901 so I assume its got some significant fixes in it.

That's pretty impressive, actually. They have truly been supporting this MB and I really feel I've been getting my money's worth.

So Far so good, I hoping one of the "stability improvements" was a fix to the usb Joystick disconnect issue in Windows hate [I mean 8} 😛
Intel Core i9 103900KS
Asus Maximus Z790 Extreme [bios 1801]
LG (34U97-s) Monitor 3440 x1440
Nvidia RTX 3090 FE
Windows 11 Pro
64gbz Memory

was worth the update - its resolved the one issue I've been having for a long time with both this board and the maximus V gene and formulas - my Razer Ourburous mouse now works perfectly on boot up!

Looks like it does resolve USB issues 🙂

Why do I with the new Sandy Bridge processors Bios not spend 4200 in graphics tests stress?
have not solved that problem with any of the new Bios.
we have to use Bios 4206 or earlier, do not let the new processor in 4200 stress tests of the graph.

I think it's a huge failure that has not been solved nor do I think there is interest in solving.

I have some USB-issues so I gave 4901 a try.

I didn't do any extensive testing, but I had big problems with overclocking, the board would just freeze with error code "00" after rebooting with the new settings.

So I went back to 4804 on which my overclock is perfectly stable.

It's sad that we can't have the changelogs, I am curious whats new, and with changelogs it would be easier to decide if the upgrade is worth it or not.
