Welcome InterCore i7 990x, New ROG Forum Member,

I would have to say that this is some software glitch... not likely real.
If it is..that corsair is really good...and you have a new world record.
Chew is going to be bum'n....and he has been wasting his time with LN2. hehehe
Please dont take offense, not making fun, having fun....you were just
    reporting what you saw.
But just in case, if anyone suggest RMA it for testing..hahahha..
dont do it. Rare NASA test Gpu or 990x.

And yes, I think that just might damage your cpu, if it were real.
The cpu lcd would be screaming red, and the auto over voltage settings
would probably, hopefully, shut you down.
What does the log in AIsuite say? Any warnings?

Seriously though, Id watch the board for red, if it is spiking for
real with that kind of juice there 'could' be a problem. Not saying
there is...but I would watch to see what is really happening there.

Best of Luck ...and Congrats on Your New World Record...c.
