CNQ not working with bus overclock

I can't seem to make cnq work with bus overclock, multiplier overclock works fine, cnq scales voltages and clocks accordingly, but when I ramp up bus and lower the multi the clocks are kept always at maximum. a lower bus overclock (227mhz) allows for a kind of erratic cnq jumping straight from top to bottom clocks/voltages without any middle values

Sandman over at overclock...dot...net finds the same issue, and has not seen any sign of an answer in the [Official] ASUS Crosshair V Formula (990FX) club thread. He is quite accomplished at overclocking issues and is actively looking into this issue.
