My laptop will ONLY boot up to an External Monitor connected w/ HDMI, even if there isn't anything connected. It will connect to a phantom external monitor. Blindly cycling through fn+f8 does not work to switch the display options because it will NOT recognize the laptop monitor until I go into display settings and "detect" additional monitors.
This is a pain in the ass.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
