That would be awesome. I'll be waiting for one of those then. Won't bother this one. Hehe.

Thank you for clearing things up.

I have entered this competition regardless of the fact that with water cooling I cannot win, I am testing myself to see if I can at least compete with the other ambient cooling entries. Improvements in my skills if any will be my prize.

That is my focus. And will be nice to have Asus supporting AMD rookies.

MarshallR, HiVizMan, and all team mates :

I have a question concerning the competition. (I have asked Massman about this also):

The HWBOT contest is quite clear about the rules - at least I thought!!!!!!!!

    General Rules state:
    Only use Asus motherboards.
Only use motherboards using Z97 chipset.
    Use 1 processor(s).
    Single GPU graphics card
    Only use Asus graphics card
Please attach a picture of your overclocking rig.
Must use competition background (download) for SuperPI 32M and 3DMark Sky Diver
Must supply verification link for CPU Frequency and 3DMark Sky Diver
    - etc etc.

If I read that, it implies: General rules apply in general = for each stage in this competition. Additional rules (that don't apply in general correct?) are stated in the subsequent stages.

I am convinced that if the general rules state only use Asus Graphic Card, this applies to all stages (hence the name general). So this means that if you post your Super Pi scores, you have to follow the general and specific rules.

So you need: screenshot of your SuperPi Score, including 2 instances of CPU-Z (cpu tab and memory tab), you have to use the competition background. Furthermore the hardware that is obligated: An Asus Z97 motherboard AND an Asus graphic card! You have to add an picture off your overclocking rigg. Proving that you follow the Rules.

So our team mates Menthol and Meankeys (amongst others?) and me did that perfectly.

However a lot of contenders have not deliverd any proof that they are in fact using an Asus Graphics card for the SuperPi test. In my opinion that in fact does not comply with rules.

However after asking this to Massman from HWBOT he states: " The rule only applies to the 3DMark stage "

Well I disagree with that, rules are rules. Not following them render subsequent submissions incorrect.

I would like an official Asus decision about this. A contest can only be fair if ALL rules are followed correct?

I would say it's an open interpretation due to imprecise language, rather than going 'against' the rules. Since SuperPi is a 2D test there's not a 'need' for ASUS graphics card as it doesn't affect the result (there's not even a need for any GPU if you use Intel onboard). We would rather not appear spiteful to entrants and omit results for the sake of a technicality, when it's not a requirement to show an ASUS 3D performance or advantage in a 2D test. We will be more clear and reword:

*Only use Asus graphics card for 3DMark stage

    Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the reply, maybe for future competitions, these details could be sharpened, and leave no room for discussion. As for the contest, just few more dayz, hopefully no huge sandbagging this time. Now time for Coffee and some Pi (the 32M version) :g) Ps the oc tool is very handy!
