Which online retailers should I be checking every 10 minutes to see when I can order the monitor? Amazon? NewEgg? Somewhere else?

Just throwing out currency conversions on prices for this monitor that I've seen mentioned......

US MSRP is projected to be $799

    719 euros = $972.41 US
    799 euros = $1080.61 US
    810 euros = $1095.48 US

I think the larger number of US units (so less profit needed per unit), combined with the savings from shipping by container ship, are why we're seeing the large price discrepancy. ASUS isn't screwing anyone over, it's just business economics.

I can wait the extra 2-3 weeks or so, I guess......it'll be tough! But I DO want to save some money if possible as well heh.

That's one heck of a price to pay, kkn. You're hardcore!

Hi Marshall, you write its avaible in EU now. Thats wrong. All shops set the deliverydate in August. And in the german forum the answers from an Asus forum support was also in middle of August.
When you have one shop in EU tell me please and I drive with a bike to them and buy We want show the monitor with my watercooling in one schoolproject, but that we can forget now when release its all times later. And I idiot buy for that project 2 Titan black because Releasedate from PG278Q was middle of July.

Any news when this will be for sale in Canada? I asked someone at Canada Computers and he said he was not sure when they will have it yet. I thought it would be here in april, this is taking so long, my thirst for this monitor is unreal. Come on asus!!!
