No that is not right. This cpu does 4750 mhz @ 1.55v on high cpu LLC depending on the bench. As I get closer to 4.8 mhz I do need 1.685v keep in mind I use SS cooling.

Looking forward to some results from you both! Glad you're sorted meankeys..

Menthol what are the 290X blocks like...do they look as bad on the card as I feared? I was waiting for ages for one but seeing them I thought they were so ugly and not full block that I couldn't bring myself to buy one
lol Arne, if cooling the VRM section was not important on water cooling I would use universal blocks, I don't think the block is bad looking, I am not even trying to install the back plate, I am just looking for the highest clock I can get. The thing that I see having trouble with is the the end plate with the graphics out put connectors has no other support to the card other than where it is soldered/screwed to the cards at the out put adapters themselves, it is supported with screws to that bent plate that goes around where the crossfire fingers would be on older AMD cards to the thermal plate that screws on the card, with all the factory heatsink and plates as default it is very rigid, remove all of that and not so much. I was trying to run both of these cards and my 2 DCUII cards at same time on air but with the back plates and the fans actually stick a little below what a 2 slot card is there was not enough room to fit all cards on the motherboard, so for someone considering 3 or 4 custom cards on air, it's not happening. I may put a couple universal blocks on the DCUII's just to run 4 way as I have never ventured there before. I realize they won't clock as high in that configuration but I feel like I should do it just because I have the cards. I am not sure if any of that makes since, short answer the blocks are not full length but look good, may need a EK backplate to look best but I can see them sagging if mounted in a case

Yeah I'm a bit of an aesthete sometimes I'm sure the performance is there alright...just after the full cover Titan blocks I think I am spoiled.

All makes sense to me...that is the downside to doing this in a case not on a bench. Removing reinforcement and hanging waterblock of those cards you want them vertical not horizontal...you might have to rig some support?

And I've read of quite a few people trying to run 3 or 4 cards on air and not being able to because the cards touch and fans jammed to a stop on the next card...seems like they are a bit loose on the double slot dimensions...

    meankeys! congrats on 1000 posts

Tbe EK blocks may not be full cover in the through sence of the word, however it performs great. Even with the tropic temps, I did short run (1200/1450) the core temps didn't go above 37°C (ambient 27 water chilled at 21.c).... Very promising Better pics tomorrow. @meankeys the matrixe love to be at low temps whats your experience?

meankeys, I guess were using your thread to share our experiences if you don't mind, hope you don't mind. Henk, yes the block seems to cover every heat producing portion of the card. I can't feel any location on the card getting hot. My cards seem to need more voltage than the software allows my cards top out at 1250, memory seem to do 1500 without trouble. 1250 core doesn't net me bench scores i am looking for. Unless there is a different bios or software that will allow more voltage the OC card is needed. Have you received your OC card yet? I would like to see someone share results using that OC card.

    I dont mind.

Looks like I have to wait a bit for my water blocks. There on back order. I did get my monitor problem sorted. I hope to have some time to play today. I decided to go with the 1/4 hp chiller that I need to get on order. Also Arne gave me a sweet deal on a set of EK water blocks for my two Titans. they showed up yesterday. Any thoughts on the parallel or series bridge? Menthol have you tried crossfire yet. no crossfire bridge needed. was wondering how that was working.

Good choice on the chiller, yes Crossfire works without a bridge just fine

Parallel flow drops flow through each card to half loop flow but it maintains high flow through the loop as a whole and it is great for loops with high flow or a single pump. Keeping high flow in the loop as a whole aids cooling.

Series gives more resistance and has more impact on flow but that is cool if you are running dual pumps say to counteract...in that case flow is maintained high through both cards.

    Thanks for the info guy's

I was leaning towards the parallel bridge.

Whats a good flow rate for using two cards with a 1/4 hp chiller?

Yes the OC Tool was delivered perfectly.

Putting the Tool to use was a different story, succesfull non the less.

I will post a separate thread with my findings!
