Here's a thread on how another user resolved that issue: http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showth...ght=error+1029

I remember you posted an earlier thread: http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showth...ighlight=moudy
    in which you posted:

    5) no, I didn't removed the ASUS partition, i used it three times but last time i used another windows 7 ultimate
    thx very much
You should be able to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate using the number on the tag on the underside of your computer to activate it. Then you can install the drivers and any ASUS apps you want from: http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showth...tion-Reference

This thread also has an ISO image of Windows Home Premium that you can burn to DVD and install on your system.

Try restoring from the factory recovery partition rather than those recovery discs.

Very old thread but I just had this problem. (I tend to format my pc's every now and then when I've screwed up something)

Basically what you need to know is that when the DVD's have finished doing all the recovery the info to recover the system is there. It's just not setting the partition as active when you restart, therefore it doesn't complete the restore.

So, what I did that I boot from a HIren's Boot CD and just hit the first option (Which says something like run from from HD) And just with that, the recovery process will continue and restore your system.

If that doesn't work try launching the mini windows XP on Hiren's boot cd and look for a partition manager, put the recovery partition as active and restart, hit HIren's boot cd first option again and it should keep working on the restore.

I see the other topic was deleted or something so that's why I'm posting this here even though it's a veeeery old topic. I think it should still be helpful for someone.
