    Thermosphere GPU block

I noticed the EK Thermosphere Universal GPU waterblock at FrozenCPU because it lists compatibility my Firepro W5000.

Also looking at it for another application. For that I need to know the area of the copper coldplate. It looks to be about 50mm x 50mm but what is it exactly?

    Thanks

    Jeff

Apologies to chip in. I have a few queries about these and thought about asking is this sub forum. But it seems EK is permanently on holiday. What is the purpose of this sub forum if EK is not responding?

As long as the screws fit the holes on the gpu you should be fine right?

For 7950/70 cards you need a cooper shim between gpu and block. Don't know if that applies to your card also.

I've used ek vga blocks on all sorts of cards. Not the thermosphere ones though. Works great on 7970 dc2 and matrix.

Thanks for the reply, twisted1, but the application I need the info for is not a VGA. It's a moot point now because I'm finding more suitable blocks elsewhere.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm not in Slovenia year round so it sometimes takes nagging of the engineers to get these technical answers. For all future inquires the base is 50x50.
