Advice for new WC System

Hi, I had just ordered the Nepton 280L (the new version isn't out yet), but have decided to send it back and go custom. I'm going to be ordering the XSPC Raystorm, either the 750 or D5 AX240. I know the D5 is a much better pump and for now I'm just going to be cooling the CPU, but I might be cooling my 690 also. So would you guys say spend the extra cash and get the D5 for future expansion? Also what is everyone using for their liquid cooling (distilled/coolant)?
Thanks.

go for a D5,and be shure you have space for the rad in top of the case ( or where you going to put it ).
is it bay or pump res you getting or stand alone like a tube?
rad, get distilled water to clean it out to get out all the resedue/gunk from production.
coolant, normal coolant can be used, you can even use distilled water but then you have to change it every couple month.
but a premix can be used for 1 - 2 years.
fittings, go whit compression ones.
dont be afraid to get extra tubings.

I think the rad will fit in the top of the case (hopefully). I was thinking of going for the bay res but that Photon sure looks good. I agree with using the compression fittings, I'll have to order extras. A single D5 should take care of cooling the CPU and 1 or 2 GPU's (there are dual D5's too).

for me. the restriction comes on the gpus.
take in consideration you have to think 2×120 fan slot for each oc'd component.
fans whit high mmh2o. and not cfm.
if you take a quick look at mike's post in this tread section he is using a small pump/res combo.
see if that would be an option for you.

Well I haven't decided yet which kit I'm buying or how I'm going to set it up. I might just use this Nepton 280L in the meantime. Does anyone know if the current 280L model that's out now is the new updated version?

Hi kkn, what's funny is that I actually phoned them twice and they knew nothing about what I was talking about. I told them it was all over the net that Cooler Master is revising a few models (the 280L is one of them), and that they are adding a quieter pump and fans, etc. The guy on the other end never heard of any of this. I found that funny since it was CM that was doing the advertising. I don't know if they were just trying to keep it quiet or what (hurt current model that is out now). Oh well.

I gave up on that question, no one knows anything. So I sent it back and I'm going with a XSPC kit, but I'm not sure which rad will fit in the top of the case, an AX240 or a RX240?
