Not seen one person that had no problems with the card, do some research and see what I mean. RMA took about 4 months. Whole thing was a nightmare. No support from asus.

Not saying this card will be the same, just warning you, I wish someone warned me before I got the ares 2 it was cheap made garbage.
    I beg to differ.
There's nothing wrong with my ARES II (#982 of 999) except for the drivers.
I'm looking for an ARES 3 for an update. And no, I'm not about to sell my ARES II.
I would much rather have a decent MARS, though.
    Even better, both.
(OOPS. I meant there WAS nothing wrong with my ARES II. The drivers are just fine now.)
My name is Legion; for we are many.

Asus Ares cards are the most sought after cards not only by diehard ROG fans , but also those who appreciate the sheer power and aesthetics these cards have to offer. My first Ares was the original version - as seen here: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...t-First-photos... Needless to say, I have been gaming on this card for the last 3 years and have never seen them hiccup. I've had it oc on air and on liquid, and this card has never let me down. It is a heavy card; no doubt! But once I had it water-cooled, this baby ran on 975Mhz steady with the lightest of them. You can't say that about many 5990 cards, especially when they were barely pushing 875Mhz.
I skipped over Ares 2, but am not about to do the same mistake I just put in a pre-order for 2 of these babies and cannot wait to see them on my rig. They are going inside a case-labs Mercury S8, and on a asrock x79 extreme 11 with a 3930k. I'm not sure about the monitors yet, but def leaning towards the rog swift, eventhough designed for g-sync, there isn't anything else right now with 1ms gtg, 12ms input lag, 144mhz, and 2560 x 1440

@speedeple. if you are one of the lucky ones and get to run the monitor at 100+fps on amd card well then i would start doing lotto.

take a look in the monitor section and see what ppl whit amd cards say and what problem they have.

There is problem with the monitor no matter if your using nvidia or AMD, you just dont get G-synch with AMD cards thats the difference on that monitor, i have bought the monitor and im just waiting for it to arrive so i can see the Ares III in action
