GL551 - Is it an IPS screen?

The page here does not clarify what screen type it is: http://www.asus.com/us/site/g-series/GL551/

Asking ASUS live chat they say it is IPS, but some of us are finding conflicting information. I've already pre-ordered the device and would like verification that it is an IPS screen. Others are wondering as well - it was initially listed as IPS at Computex but I want to verify nothing changed from the prototype, thanks!

Actually got carried away with the device.

It's value in hardware id is AUO36ED. It is the same as the y50 in spec, technically. But I liked this display more. Good colours and side-to-side viewing angles. Top-down viewing angles not so great. Its powerful though and there's only minimal heating on it under heavy gaming. I kind of like the keyboard, then again its personal opinion.
My major worry was the ugle bulge on the bottom right of the notebook, but it actually doesn't bother me one bit after I got it. I barely notice it. The sound is pretty average. I expected more. It has a decent battery life of about 4 hours ( Then again it's after a fresh charge , so i don't trust it )

All in all, I'm very happy with the notebook so far !
No IPS is an EPIC fail from ASUS, and they are going to lose a ton of customers as a result.

It looks like not all models will ship with an IPS screen, you will need to carefully check upon purchase to make sure what you are getting is the HD model with IPS screen.

"There’s a Full HD with IPS display option nestled in the specs of both below..."
